Formal vs. Informal
Informal assignments: classwork and homework
-classwork is due at the end of the class period. Extensions are not given on these assignments and result in a zero unless explicitly stated by the teacher.
-homework assignments are not given daily. When assignments are given, there is typically class time to start working on them. Homework is due the next day at the beginning of the class period. If homework assignments are gone over in class, they can no be turned in for a grade.
Formal assignments: projects, tests and quizzes
-Tests and quizzes are given using a variety of question types to receive an accurate measure of the student's knowledge
-Projects are given on most topics in the content area. They will range from independent to group projects. Class time is typically given to start projects. Rubrics are given so students can fulfill the necessary requirements.
Last Assignments
